Wood Shop

Walt Sanderson enjoys using RiverWoods’ full service wood shops. Sanderson has been working with wood for years. When he moved in to RiverWoods he was pleased to find peers that shared his interest and the space to work just down the hall from his apartment.

In the Wood Shop he found all the equipment he needed to get started: all types of saws (table saw, band saw, jig saws, compound saw); a drill press; a jointer; table router; work surfaces and benches; all types of hand tools; a vast collection of parts, including screws and nails of all sizes; and, much more. Most of the equipment was donated by residents; though some, including a sophisticated dust removal system, was provided by RiverWoods.

Residents have built everything from boats to hand-made boxes in our two full service Wood Shops. With the proper equipment and space the possibilities are endless.
