Choose to live an independent life

"We came here without knowing another soul and, honestly, with that touch of anxiety that always accompanies something new. Within days, though, we felt right at home because other residents went out of their way to welcome us. Without a doubt, this is the friendliest place we've ever seen!” -- Carol & Ed Knapp, Residents since 2003

RiverWoods lets us be who we are. For some, moving here has represented a way to have more freedom, shedding the responsibilities and chores of home ownership. For others, our community represents a sense of support and security for the future; a wise financial and medical choice.  But what we all share is the strong desire to live as independently as possible, for as long as possible.

We choose to live life creatively and vibrantly, in a supportive, encouraging atmosphere where both our commonalities and our differences are respected and celebrated. We choose to live at RiverWoods, because here we knew we can determine our own future, our own plans for what we want this life to look like. We choose to live life as the people we are; in a place where aging is not regarded as a problem to be solved, but a time where we (finally!) have the time to live life as fully as we can.
