Independent Spirit
Here are some of the things we’ve heard from residents, about their favorite aspect of life at RiverWoods:
Being able to travel whenever we want
Always having a clean house, and never having to clean it.
Volunteering at the Main Street School surrounded by amazing first graders every week – and then going home and getting a good night’s sleep!
Being so close to nature. I love the seacoast, the woods, the rivers, the wildflowers, the gardens, and the view from my terrace!
Turning up the heat without worrying about the oil bill
Teaching woodworking to my friends and neighbors and having a place to do it where my wife doesn’t yell about the noise!
Finally figuring out how to use my digital camera and my computer. My grandchildren are extremely impressed.
Always having someone to play pool with.
Being surrounded by intellectually curious people
Writing my memoir. Finally, finally, writing my memoir!
Curling up with a good book and looking at the snow fall on the pine trees
Seeing my art in the galleries
Laughing out loud at least once a day
Shopping in downtown Exeter then having coffee with friends
The nursing and physical therapy staff. They treat me with such dignity and kindness, and really seem to care about how I’m doing every day
I love walking outside before bed and seeing the trees and the stars in the night sky.
Having my grandchildren visit – they love the pool, and the billiards room, and the Wii system. And they love a sleep-over in the guest room!
I love a miserable, slushy, wet, snowy day when I can go to my book club, get my hair done, take an aquacize class, play bridge, have cocktails with friends, go out to dinner, and never leave the building!
