Kimon Zachos, Resident Trustee:
Kimon Zachos is the senior partner of the law firm of Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green in Manchester, New Hampshire. In 1965-66 he served as a White House Fellow as a special assistant to Attorney General Nicholas D. Katzenbach. He has also served as a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives (1969-1974), where he chaired the Judiciary Committee, served as majority leader and as deputy speaker. Well known for his leadership and philanthropy, he has served as a Director and Trustee of many businesses and non-profit organizations. Among a long list of his current involvement, he serves as a Trustee (and past president) of the Currier Museum of Art, Southern New Hampshire University, the Endowment Funds of Havenwood Heritage Heights Retirement Community and the Trust Funds of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, and as a Director of the New Hampshire Center for Public Policy Studies. He is a former director and chair of the New Hampshire Charitable Fund. Kimon has also been the recipient of a long list of awards throughout his career, including the Manchester Bar Association’s Lawyer of the Year, Manchester Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year, Daniel Webster Council B.S.A. Distinguished Citizens Award, Business NH Magazine’s Business Leader of the Year, NH Business Committee for the Art’s Leadership Award, the NH Business & Industry Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award and Pastoral Counseling Services Good Samaritan Award for Public Service. In 2010, he was honored by Heritage United Way with the William S. Green Lifetime Achievement Award, its most prestige award, for his long-term history of volunteer service to the United Way and the health and human service field. He has a B.A. degree from Wesleyan University, an LLB from New York University School of Law, an LLM in taxation from Boston University Law School and has received an Honorary LLD from Southern New Hampshire University and an Honorary LLD from St. Anselm College. He and his wife Anne reside at the Boulders in Riverwoods where they are frequently visited by their three daughters and five grandsons.
