Nancy W. Hood, Ph.D., Resident Trustee:

Graduated in Science at the University of Tasmania, Australia, and received postgraduate education at the University of London, England, where she received the Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry.  She came to the United States in 1961, and has been engaged in research, initially for 3 years at Rockefeller Institute - now Rockefeller University - in New York.  She subsequently spent 20 years in Cancer Research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Institute, followed by 13 years as a faculty member at the University of Texas Medical Branch, retiring as Professor in 1999.  While in Texas she continued research in Biochemistry, and was for several years chairman of the admissions committee.  Since coming to RiverWoods in November 1999 she has served on a number of resident standing Committees, was a member of the Resident Council for 4 years and Chair of the Council 2003-2004.
